Cookie notice
This page explains what cookies are, which cookies SoftEng Lab may use, and how you can accept or reject optional cookies.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember preferences, keep basic functions working, and — if you consent — understand aggregate traffic.
How we use cookies
SoftEng Lab uses essential cookies required for site operation and consent storage. Optional analytics cookies run only if you choose Accept on the cookie banner. Rejecting optional cookies does not block browsing, forms, or engagement pages. See also our privacy notice.
Cookie table
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| softenglab_cookie_consent | Stores whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies | 1 year (localStorage) | SoftEng Lab |
| session_essential | Maintains basic site integrity and security during a visit | Session | SoftEng Lab |
| _ga / analytics (if accepted) | Measures aggregated page visits to improve content clarity | Up to 24 months | Analytics provider (only if accepted) |
Managing cookies
Use the Accept or Reject buttons on our cookie banner. You can also clear site data in your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may affect preference storage but will not remove access to SoftEng Lab content.
Third-party cookies
If you accept analytics, a third-party provider may set cookies subject to that provider’s policies. Embedded fonts loaded from Google Fonts may involve network requests; they are not used to identify engagement clients.
Impact of disabling
Disabling optional analytics cookies simply means we receive less aggregate usage information. Essential consent storage may reset if you clear localStorage, which can cause the banner to reappear.
